This is a question I frequently get asked. When I had a traditional job in finance and then ran software sales teams, answering this question was straightforward. I would simply share the company’s name and my position. However, the answer becomes more complex today. On the surface, I might say, “I’m a mom of four kids, I buy real estate, renovate it, and rent it out, and I’m a manifestation writer.” But if someone digs deeper, they’ll uncover the real answer, and it’s absolutely crazy. A good layering question or two might lead me to reveal that I’m going to become a professional tennis player by the time I’m 90. This certainly sparks curiosity and prompts follow-up questions, and earns me weird looks.
The truth is, I don’t have all the details yet on how I’ll achieve this goal, but I’m confident that I can do it. I’m not rushing this journey; I’ll simply announce my intention to become a professional tennis player by the time I’m 90. “I WILL indeed be a professional tennis player by the time I’m 90!”
In my pursuit of becoming a professional tennis player, I realize that I can only control my progress day by day. I must make the most of each day, be present, and gradually push myself forward towards achieving this goal. One of my annual traditions, which will be a contributing factor to my future professional title, is a 3-day Pebble Beach Clinic with some of the world’s top tennis professionals. I organize this trip with 8-12 incredible women—athletes and highly intriguing individuals—and we spend three days in Pebble Beach, improving our tennis skills while embracing the Pebble Beach lifestyle.
To become the ultimate athlete, you must be in top physical shape, excel at your chosen sport, possess stamina, have some favorable genetics, and laugh (and cry) along the way. There will be physically challenging moments, especially at Pebble Beach where you’ll be playing three full days of non-stop tennis, but if you’re determined to be your best, you must push through the physical and mental challenges.
Our itinerary for this year was fantastic and one that I would repeat year after year.
Three days in Carmel & Pebble Beach:
Brunch at La Bicyclette in Carmel is a culinary delight that you must try. The cozy and inviting ambiance makes it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. However, be sure to reserve your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
We stayed at Le Petit Pali on 8th Avenue, a charming boutique hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It exceeded our expectations with its adorable decor, handpicked breakfast treats from Carmel, and a delightful kir royale set-up with homemade cookies in our room upon our return. We spent the rest of our evening lounging in our robes by the fireplace.
We spent three days at Pebble Beach & Tennis Club with Kie and Bill as our fearless leaders. We arranged our own private session, but there are also Nike camps available if you’d like to join an existing group.
Every day at Pebble should end with drinks and appetizers at The Bench on your private fire pit table. Enjoy a wining and dining experience on the golf course with the ocean view. You can watch the scenery, people-watch, and just laugh the night away.
Whether you’re an extreme sports enthusiast looking to become a professional or simply seeking a fun getaway with your girlfriends, this trip is worth booking. The adrenaline rush will help you perform better at your job and improve your overall well-being upon your return home.
So, go book your next adventure and get one step closer to your life’s dream!
